Survivor Isabella Onofrei
Born in Romania, Isabella moved to the United States in 2004 started calling Keller, Texas home in December 2015.
Currently 45 years old, Isabella was first diagnosed in September 2012 and is currently a 5 year Breast Cancer Survivor. She is a strong advocate for the cause and has embarked upon a search to ensure no one else is diagnosed with this terrible disease or have to go through what she’s endured. Her appreciation for and support of Susan G. Komen Greater Fort Worth was solidified when she once again came face-to-face with the possibility that her cancer had returned in December 2017. It was because of the relentless efforts of the SGK Greater Fort Worth Staff that she’s now under the care of a physician and getting the care she needs.
Isabella remains extremely grateful for her journey and all that Komen has done for her and it’s for that reason that she signed up as a volunteer on December 22, 2017…just three days prior to Christmas, along with her 9 year old twins.
When asked, “Why do you want to volunteer for Susan G. Komen?”, her answer is short but meaningful, “I want to pay it forward.”
