Bert Thompson

Bert Thompson is President & Owner of Mike’s Westside Rental. The son and grandson of self-employed entrepreneurs, his entrepreneurial spirit began at age 11 mowing lawns in his neighborhood. While earning his BBA from Texas Wesleyan University, Bert was running several mowing crews growing his landscape services company. After 12 years and becoming one of the industry leaders in Ft. Worth, Bert sold A.S.T. Landscape Services to find his next small business opportunity – Mike’s Westside Rental. Today with locations in Graham, Weatherford and Stephenville TX, Bert is now focusing his efforts on serving customers with Equipment, Tool, Party and Event rental needs along with Echo power equipment and Scag zero turn mower sales & service. Like he always says “From Digging to Dancing” we’ve got you covered at Mike’s Westside Rental. Bert is passionate about people and helping them reach their greatest potential in both work and life. Along with building businesses Bert enjoys serving on the Board of Directors for Komen Great FW and Trinity Christian Academy. Bert’s passion for Komen Greater Ft. Worth began in August of 2000 when his mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. That passion became a lifelong pursuit after she passed away in 2003 at only 54 years old. Since then Bert has served on the Race Committee as a member and as the first male chair of the Race. There is still work to do; more funds to raise, and a CURE still to be found. And that is why Bert does what he does – for his mother, Carol Ann Thompson – and all of the women & men like her everywhere. When he is not working or serving Bert loves spending time with his wife and two children attending their sporting events, riding wave-runners at the lake, and relaxing with a good cup of coffee.
