Susan G. Komen Greater Fort Worth Names Tracey Boyes Executive Director
Boyes started her association with the Tarrant County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen in 1992 as a founding board member and the first treasurer for the Race for the Cure in Fort Worth. Previously, Boyes was the Capital Campaign Director for Tarrant Area Food Bank, helping to raise over $10.5 million for its new Program and Administration Building and renovation of the distribution center.
Prior to that she was a vice president with Bank One and served in the community as a member of the Junior League of Fort Worth, and as a board member and grief facilitator for The W.A.R.M. Place. In 2000 Boyes moved to New Zealand, where she held leadership positions with crown entities Accidental Compensation Corporation and Public Trust. She returned to Fort Worth in 2011. Boyes received her Bachelor of Science in Child Development from Texas Tech University.
“It is very exciting that Tracey will become executive director during our affiliate’s 25th year, as she was an important part of our early years,” said Komen Greater Fort Worth Co-Vice President and Founder Joan Katz. “She embodies the Komen mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever through raising funds for important local community projects and critical scientific research. Tracey brings enormous talents, skills, leadership and experience to the organization. She is the perfect person to connect the legacy and heritage of the past 25 years with the future vision and focus for the important work that still needs to be done.”
“It is a tremendous opportunity and honor to join the Komen Greater Fort Worth team and be part of the work in this community started by Rozanne Rosenthal and Joan Katz to end breast cancer and save lives,” Boyes said. “I am committed to helping individuals in our service area as they struggle with a breast cancer diagnosis, expanding our educational opportunities to promote early detection and increasing the funding available for these services, including breast cancer research. I am so excited to work with this experienced and dedicated Board of Directors and staff.
